See Me, Drink Me: The Who's Roger Daltrey Celebrates His 80th Birthday with His Own Beer

Let us toast The Who's Roger Daltrey, who turns 80 today, March 1. The renowned artist appeared to be toasting his milestone birthday with his own beer.

According to a post on The Who's social media sites, Daltrey had Lakedown Brewing Co., the family brewery and taproom his son Jamie created near Roger's home and fishery in rural England,

brew him a special beer for his big day. The article includes a photograph of Daltrey clutching a can of Roger's Pale Ale.

The can features a vintage photograph of Daltrey with The Who's red, white, and blue bullseye emblem superimposed on it. The beer has a modest alcohol content of 3.8%. Unfortunately for any beer-loving Who fans,

the notice reads, "Roger's beer is brewed especially for him on his birthday and is not for sale."

Some fans seized the opportunity to wish Daltrey a happy birthday in the message's comments section, while others discussed the special beer.

"We wish you a rockin' 80th birthday filled with music, joy, and the greatest cheers!""Enjoy your day, Roger," one fan replied.Another said, "Happy Birthday to Roger from Oz!!" "Long live, Rog!"

This fan was referencing to The Who's famous 1967 appearance on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, when co-host Tommy Smothers asked Daltrey where he was from, to which he jokingly responded, "Oz."
