Nashville Showboats Release Sign Ex-Eagles RB

The Memphis Showboats switch running backs after one week of training camp. Kennedy Brooks was released, and the Showboats signed Titus Swen on Saturday.

The Showboats selected Brooks in the UFL Dispersal Draft in January. He spent the past two seasons in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Brooks carried for 120 yards in the preseasons of 2022 and 2023, while not playing during the regular season.

In 38 games over four seasons at Oklahoma, Brooks carried for 3,320 yards and 31 touchdowns. In 2018, he was named a USA Today Freshman All-American, and in 2019, he was named to the Big 12 second team.

Swen played three seasons of collegiate football for the Wyoming Cowboys. In 33 games, he rushed for 2,161 yards and 16 touchdowns.

His greatest season was in 2022, when he carried for 1,039 yards and eight touchdowns. Pro Football Focus placed him to its second-team All-Mountain West team.

The Showboats have undergone several modifications over the last two years, and they will be known as the Tampa Bay Bandits when they join the USFL in 2022.

The following year, the team relocated to Memphis and became the Showboats. Todd Haley led the squad for two years before former New Orleans Breakers coach John DeFilippo took them before of the UFL's inaugural season.
