Kelly Clarkson reveals the honest reason why she's 'loving not having a man in her life'.

Kelly Clarkson appears to be enjoying every bit of her life since her split from ex Brandon Blackstock.

Her excitement shines through every note she sings, and there is a sense of lightness around her when she interviews guests on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Could it have anything to do with her dating history?

Today show anchor Hota Kotb arrived on Clarkson's show on Tuesday and turned the tables on her, asking the question that fans had been waiting to hear the response to.

"Do you ever think about going on a date?" asked Kotb. That's when the American Idol winner delivered the most honest answer anyone could have given. "Not at all," she replied firmly. "Not even a little bit."

Any male would be blessed to date Clarkson, but her long divorce from Blackstock took its toll. That is why we admire a woman who is confident in her decisions,

especially as she embarks on a new chapter of her life. "I am really loving not having a man in my life," she emphasized. "It's just too hard, it's too much.

" The audience chuckled at her statement, but Kotb wanted to know why it was simply "too much" right now. "There's all the jobs, plus the kids, plus being present for the kids while you're there."

Following her breakup with Blackstock, Clarkson has emphasized herself and her children, River, 9, and Remington, 7. Last October, she uprooted them to relocate to New York City and start over on the East Coast.
