Francis Ford Coppola's $120 million sci-fi film is a huge first in 61 years (which makes it much more exciting).

Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis marks not only his return to the big screen as director

but also a significant milestone in his career, making the project much more thrilling.

Francis Ford Coppola is regarded as one of the best directors in film history, thanks to films such as The Godfather and Apocalypse Now, thus his projects are always met with high expectations.

Coppola has not created a picture since the 2011 horror thriller Twixt, which earned generally unfavorable reviews

but he is returning with Megalopolis, his most ambitious and long-awaited project to date.

Megalopolis began as a passion project for Coppola in the 1980s, and he said in 2007 (via Ain't It Cool) that he agreed to direct Bram Stoker's Dracula

Jack, and The Rainmaker in order to pay off his debt and fund Megalopolis.

After finishing the color work and doing table reads with various performers, Coppola announced in 2007 that he had abandoned the project.
