Eagles realized letting talented safety leave was a mistake.

NFL teams may want defensive back Ceedy Duce in free agency.

After playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, the excellent safety joined the upstart Detroit Lions in 2023 on a one-year, $6.5 million contract.

He was immediately noticeable on and off the field. A injured pectoral muscle kept Duce out for most of the season. Aaron Glenn's defense scrambled and depended on younger players to advance.

Ifeatu Melifonwu and Kerby Joseph showed NFL promise.

Duce tried hard to return, but he may play elsewhere in 2024

ESPN, which spent the week in Indianapolis gathering information from league sources at the Scouting Combine, reported that the 26-year-old could return to the Eagles, whose defense declined without him.

C.J. Gardner-Johnson reunion in Philadelphia is on my radar. Eagles realized they missed the talented secondary safety. Jeremy Fowler writes Tennessee makes sense for him. "Titans defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson is a big fan of Gardner-Johnson from their Philly days."

Nearly all NFC East fans agree that the defense needs to be improved this offseason.   After problems in 2023, the squad hired Vic Fangio to manage the defense.
