California State Prison sentences former NBA player, actor to 90–life for savage sexual assaults.

Authorities said a former NBA player and actor was sentenced to 90 years to life in prison on Friday for a series of horrific sexual assaults, some in Los Angeles County.

The Los Angeles Police Department began investigating Rashid Byrd in 2019 after a victim reported being sexually assaulted.

The LAPD report added that officers discovered Byrd was convicted of sexual assault with a separate victim in 2010.

Detectives also found that Byrd had been arrested for sexually abusing a young woman in 2005 in Washington State.

Before forcing them into sex acts, Byrd was “initially charming” according to his victims.

After appearing in “Semi-Pro” and “Bring Your ‘A’ Game,” LAPD police arrested the former NBA player for sexual assault in September 2020.

Since his arrest, he was in detention on $4,150,000 bail, police added.

The 39-year-old was found guilty and sentenced to 90 years to life in state prison for the Friday savage sexual attacks in L.A. and Santa Clara counties.
